Toyota and Wipro 3D Establish Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence in India

Toyota Motor Corporation's Indian subsidiary, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), has announced a strategic partnership with Wipro 3D, a prominent Indian additive manufacturing solutions provider. This collaboration aims to establish a state-of-the-art Additive Manufacturing (AM) Center of Excellence (CoE) located in India.

The primary objective of this new CoE is to explore and implement advanced additive manufacturing technologies across various applications within Toyota's operations. This includes leveraging 3D printing for prototyping, tooling, and potentially end-use part production, with a focus on enhancing manufacturing efficiency and product innovation.

Wipro 3D will contribute its expertise in additive manufacturing technologies, including metal and polymer 3D printing, alongside its experience in industrializing AM processes. Toyota, in turn, will bring its extensive knowledge of automotive manufacturing and quality standards, guiding the application of AM in real-world production scenarios.

The establishment of this CoE signifies a significant step towards integrating advanced manufacturing capabilities within India's automotive sector. It is expected to foster the development of new skills and accelerate the adoption of AM for complex industrial challenges.
