Tomakomai Kosen Partners with Ainu Museum for 3D Printing Research

Tomakomai National College of Technology (Tomakomai Kosen) has initiated a joint research project with the Ainu Museum, located in Shiraoi Town, Hokkaido. The primary objective of this collaboration is to utilize 3D printing technology to accurately reproduce historical artifacts.

Through this partnership, researchers aim to create detailed 3D models and subsequent physical replicas of various Ainu cultural items. This includes the creation of statues and pottery, which are significant elements of Ainu heritage. The project seeks to leverage advanced 3D scanning and printing techniques to capture the intricate details and textures of the original artifacts.

The collaboration will focus on developing efficient and effective methods for digitizing and printing these cultural assets.
