South Korea's Lincsolution Establishes Aerospace & Defense AM Hub

Lincsolution, a South Korean company that designs and sells polymer 3D printers and provides additive manufacturing (AM) services, has announced the establishment of a new hub dedicated to aerospace and defense applications. This initiative is situated in Daejeon, a city often referred to as South Korea's Silicon Valley.

The new defense hub will be integrated with Lincsolution's expansive AM facility, which is slated for completion in December. This facility is expected to be the largest of its kind in South Korea, covering over 200,000 square feet. The aerospace and defense operations will utilize dedicated servers, ensuring isolation from external networks to maintain stringent security protocols.

Lincsolution is also actively pursuing compliance with the Pentagon's Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), a regulation crucial for defense contractors. The company's strategic targets include the production of aircraft components, launch vehicle parts, satellite and guided weapon components, and low-volume parts for established weapon systems, which often present significant lead-time issues within defense supply chains.

This development follows a period of increased activity for Lincsolution. The company went public on the KOSDAQ in June and subsequently agreed to supply South Korea's military with an expeditionary 3D printing system. Earlier, Lincsolution had signed a deal to supply Hyundai with automotive parts at scale and was recognized by the South Korean Army for its contributions to 3D-printed drones.
