Saudi Arabia Grants Military Manufacturing License to NAMI

The National Additive Manufacturing and Innovation Company (NAMI) has been granted a Military Manufacturing License by Saudi Arabia's General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI). This authorization permits NAMI to undertake regulated military manufacturing activities within the Kingdom.

NAMI is a joint venture established in 2022 by 3D Systems, Dussur (Saudi Arabian Industrial Investments Company), and Saudi Energy. The company was initially formed to support the military aerospace and defense, oil and gas, and energy generation and transmission sectors. The newly acquired license is expected to enhance NAMI's services to these industries.

This development will facilitate more efficient collaboration with international defense original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for the qualification and production of critical aerospace and defense components within Saudi Arabia. It also aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 objective to localize over 50 percent of military spending by 2030.

Eng. Mohammed Swaidan, CEO of NAMI, stated that the license expands the company's addressable market and strengthens its growth prospects. He added that it enables NAMI to apply its manufacturing capabilities to regulated defense programs, increase the production of mission-critical parts, and advance Saudi Arabia's standing in advanced manufacturing. Dr. Jeffrey Graves, President and CEO of 3D Systems, highlighted the strategic value of the joint venture and its enhanced ability to support defense OEMs in their localization efforts and supply chain resilience.
