Sanjay Mortimer RepRap Festival 2027 Set for Manchester Met University

The Sanjay Mortimer RepRap Festival (SMRRF) has announced its 2027 event will take place on March 6-7 at Manchester Metropolitan University's Dalton Building. This festival, organized by the Sanjay Mortimer Foundation (SMF), a charity dedicated to supporting neurodivergent young people in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), aims to bring together engineers, educators, hobbyists, and industry professionals.

The 2026 edition of the festival saw over 1,300 attendees and successfully raised £113,000 for the SMF, with funds directed towards fostering careers for neurodivergent individuals in engineering and STEM fields.

The SMRRF 2027 is expected to feature a blend of public engagement activities and an industry exhibition. Attendees can anticipate live 3D printing demonstrations, workshops focused on STEM and design and technology (D&T), 3D scanning stations, and entertainment such as 3D printed robot combat. The program will also include activities for younger attendees, like 3D pen sessions and chocolate 3D printing, alongside talks, panel discussions, auctions, and raffles.

A dedicated Maker Zone and displays of Star Wars droids are also planned. Exhibitors play a significant role, with opportunities for live demonstrations, product launches, and workshops.
