CECIMO Launches AM-Europe to Unify Continent's Additive Manufacturing Sector

CECIMO, the European Association of Manufacturing Technologies, has officially launched AM-Europe, a continental platform designed to unify and promote the additive manufacturing (AM) sector across Europe. This initiative represents a strategic shift, evolving CECIMO's established AM activities into an inclusive, outward-facing ecosystem with a clear European identity.

AM-Europe is not a new organization but rather the next phase of CECIMO's long-standing involvement with additive manufacturing. The association has collaborated with industry, research, and policymakers for decades to establish AM as a key component of Europe's industrial strategy. AM-Europe formalizes this experience into a more coordinated and participatory structure.

The platform was established by a founding group including UCIMU (Italy), AITA3D, ADDIMAT (Spain), FMTI, SWISSMEM (Switzerland), and AMUK (United Kingdom). These organizations represent a diverse range of machine builders, technology developers, and national manufacturing associations, providing a broad base for AM-Europe.

Membership is now open to a wider array of stakeholders, including national associations, research institutions, and competence centers. The primary goal is to foster a unified, continent-wide dialogue for European AM, enabling a stronger collective voice in policy discussions in Brussels and internationally. AM-Europe's agenda includes policy advocacy, standardization, market intelligence, skills development, and engagement with EU institutions, aligning with Europe's ambition to lead in AM technology deployment.
