Additive Assurance expands real-time QA to Japan

Additive Assurance, an Australian company specializing in quality assurance for metal powder bed fusion processes, has announced a distribution agreement with NTT DATA XAM Technologies Corp. (XAM). This partnership will bring Additive Assurance's real-time, in-situ process monitoring solution, AMiRIS, to the Japanese market.

XAM was chosen for its extensive experience and technical proficiency within Japan. The company has a long history of distributing EOS machines in the region since 1993 and is well-positioned to support the integration of AMiRIS with existing metal 3D printing systems, including those from EOS and AMCM. XAM will be responsible for sales, implementation, and technical maintenance of the AMiRIS system.

Marten Jurg, CEO of Additive Assurance, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating that the company aims to provide its innovative real-time quality assurance solutions to Japanese customers, aiding their transition towards stable, high-quality mass production. The partnership also intends to leverage build data to help customers establish robust manufacturing foundations and advance their digital transformation efforts.

Additive Assurance focuses on addressing the critical challenge of trust and speed in metal additive manufacturing, which is still a developing industry moving from prototyping to mass production. Their AMiRIS solution provides real-time monitoring during the production process to identify and address potential issues, thereby ensuring a reliable quality outcome.
